Aux Cord Wars is a homecoming event where students could let loose and share their love of music and dance. UNCP students gathered in GPAC to participate in the live musical gameshow and have the chance to win prizes and cash.
“I’m excited about the event,” Senior Lillian Matthews said. “This is my first time coming to Aux Cord Wars.”
The event allowed the competing students to play “DJ” for their fellow peers and have the chance to be rewarded for their music taste following a music theme. The music themes brought the stakes to the game and showed the music knowledge of the students. The students also had the opportunity to win prizes such as cash and items such as headphones and speakers.
The students competed against each other with music themes such as 2010 hits, toxic anthems, female anthems, turn up anthems, pop, and gospel allowing students to share what music they listen to from these themes giving the students music nostalgia with songs they know by heart.
“It was my first time coming and it was so cool,” Kosisochukwu Okwusogu said. “I liked the turn up songs that were played and I would come back to this event again.”
“This is my second time at Aux Cord Wars. I liked the turn up anthem portion,” Isatou Tambajang said. “I would definitely come back to Aux Cord Wars.”
The UNCP students danced and sang together in a united event that gave the students free range to be themselves and react to the music with singing and dancing.
