Tie Dye Night hosted by the Chemistry and Physics Club was held in the Herbert G. Oxendine Science building. This event allowed an inside look into the science department and the Chemistry and Physics Club. The event was held in room 3246 and gave the students an opportunity to show their creative sides through art by combining their specialty of chemistry.
“We’re an organization that loves to spread the love of science through youth outreach,” President of the Chemistry and Physics Club Hannah Leviner said. “We have other opportunities on campus.”
The event consisted of the students’ tie dying shirts and lab coats in fun wacky colors. This allowed for the students to branch out and show off their artistic sides by combining different colors and tying the shirts in all different types of ways for their own unique and interactive style.
“I’m a member of the Chemistry and Physics Club. I thought it was a fun event and a chance to learn about chemistry,” Bianka Dos Santos said. “It’s a cool event and a chance for us to hang out.”
The Chemistry and Physics Club has the goal to spread the knowledge and love of science to their community and peers all throughout UNCP. This event was a fun way to show off the science behind tie dying by having a hands-on activity provided to the students who have an admiration to science.
“I love the events from the club,” Lauryn Ball said. “It’s a great club and you meet a lot of great people.”
