Wrestling Sneak Peak into Upcoming Season

The UNCP Braves Wrestling team looks to build off of their second place campaign a year ago by going for it all in their 60th season. According to the Conference Carolinas preseason poll, the Braves were projected to place third in the conference behind Lander and Newberry receiving 180 points.

The Braves season will start on November 3rd in the 43rd Annual Pembroke Classic which has been renamed to the PJ Smith Pembroke Classic in honor of the late coach, at 9 a.m. Their first home meet will be November 6th in an out of conference matchup against Montevallo. Their first conference matchup of the season will be November 13th against King

In December the team will be traveling to Indianapolis for a two day event in the Annual Midwest Classic. At the end of the season, the team will host a NCAA Super Regional 2 Tournament. The top three finishers of this event will be going to the National Championships back in Indianapolis in mid march.

Some key returners from the division champion team from last year are Jake Piccirilli, Shylik Scriven, Will Lowrey and Logan Robinson
