UNCP Softball took their losses from the day before in hopes of beating the Adelphi Panthers in a double header. The day started out with a delayed game forcing their 2 p.m. start time to 3:45 p.m.

The Braves were no match for the Panthers’ force with Adelphi securing their first run in the top of the first inning making the game 1-0 Panthers. The Braves were able to hold the Panthers at bay with neither team scoring any runs until the fifth inning when the Panthers scored another two runs making the game 3-0- Panthers.

The sixth inning was when the Braves finally put some numbers on the board when they got three runs, but so did the Panther. After the sixth, the score was 6-3 Panthers.

The Braves knew they needed to push during the final inning, but the Panthers just wouldn’t allow that. Both teams got two runs making the final score 8-5 for a Panthers win.

Later in the day, the Braves once again took on the Panthers in game two of the doubleheader. The Braves were able to keep the Panthers at bay until the Panthers got a homerun in the top of the third which gave them two points on the board. The Braves tried their hardest, but were no match for the Panthers where they got two more runs in the fifth and sixth inning.

The seventh inning was tough for the Braves with the Panthers raking in 11 unanswered runs putting them ahead of the Braves 0-15. Final score of the night, 0-15 Panthers.
