While students were enjoying their summer break, Sodexo renovated Starbucks to provide an experience like an off-campus Starbucks. The interior of the store was updated with new chairs, floor, tables and even the look of the menu was updated. The chairs and tables at the outdoor seating area were also updated.

“I’m a freshman, so I didn’t know what it looked like before. I think it looks nice,” freshman Gracie Shy said.

The look of the store was not the only update. Starbucks also received a Cold Brew Coffee System, new registers, mobile ordering and printers. With the addition of mobile ordering students, faculty, staff and community can order through the Starbucks app.

The Cold Brew System was added to enhance menu options. The printers eliminate the time the barista would take to write an order on the cup. The new registers allow the use of gift cards and are optimized for mobile orders.

The store redesign also optimizes the speed of service, especially where the drinks are made.

“I think the space is much brighter and more modern than it was previously. The added menu items and the ability to use mobile ordering, mobile pay, via the app, and gift cards give customers an authentic experience,” said Glenn Reynolds, Sodexo General Manager.
