Golf Team Finishes 7th At Low Tide Invitational

The Braves competed at the Low Tide Invitational at Dunes West Golf & River Club in Mt. Pleasant, S.C., on Feb. 28 and March 1.

Redshirt junior, Georgia Page finished all her rounds with a score of 75, giving her a total of 225 through three rounds, finishing 9 over par. This was good enough to tie for an 8th place finish.

Because of her performance, Georgia Page was named Conference Carolinas “Golfer of the Week.” This marks the third time this season Page has received this honor.

Page has finished in the top 20 of a tournament on four separate occasions this season. This was Page’s second time cracking the top 10.

Her first time being in the Battle at Hilton Head tournament on Feb.
21-22. The Braves also finished 7th as a team at the Battle of Hilton Head.

As a team the Braves shot 310 in round one, 312 in round two and 316
in the final round. With a tournament total of 938, the Braves finished in 7th place out of 13 schools.

The Braves shot 74 over par, finishing 61 strokes behind tournament winner Limestone University.

This marks the second straight tournament the Braves have finished in 7th place.

Three other Braves would finish in the top 50 of the tournament: Sophomores Toni Blackwell and Elizabeth Ritchie and redshirt junior Amanda Hamrin.

Blackwell finished round one with a score of 77 and round two with a 76, and another 77 in round three. Her total of 230 was good enough to tie for 20th, finishing 14 over par.

Ritchie finished tied for 46th, with a round one score of 82 and 78 in round two, and another score of 82 in round three. Ritchie would finish 26 over par with a total of 242.

Hamrin also tied for 46th with a round one total of 77 and 84 in round two. With a round three total of 81, Hamrin finished 26 over par with a total score of 242.

The Braves will compete again during spring break at the Conference Carolinas Preview tournament on Mar. 14 and 15 at the Cateechee Golf Club in Hartwell, Ga.

The Conference Carolinas Championship will be held April 3-5 in Hartwell, Ga. at the Cateechee Golf Club.
