The bats of the Braves refuse to cool off down the final stretch of the season and that was especially evident in their commanding sweep of the Golden Bulls of Johnson C. Smith University on April 17 at Biddleville Park in Charlotte, N.C. The UNCP softball team wrapped their last bit of non-conference action and recorded their 14th and 15th double-digit hit performances of the season with their pair of victories in the twinbill. They completed comebacks in both contests winning the first game 8-2 and secured the sweep by taking care of business in just five innings at 12-4 in game two.
Game 1:

The Golden Bulls got on the scoreboard first in the bottom of the second inning with a pair of runs but the Braves would match them in the top of the third after Kaitlynn Norton singled for a pair of RBIs. The Black and Gold would not trail the rest of the way and took the lead in the very next frame when Alyssa Price smashed an RBI triple to centerfield. Right-handed pitcher Jordan Hall would be lights out on the mound and pitched a shutout the rest of the way.
Game 2:

Johnson C. Smith scored first again when they stormed out of the gate with four runs in the bottom of the opening frame but that would be the only solace, they would be able to glean from game two. The Braves would cut it down to a one-run deficit in the top of the third inning when Rendi Wetherington scored after Norton reached on a three-base error and two straight RBI doubles from Jordan Adcox and Cam Davis brought the score to 4-3. The Black and Gold offense erupted at-bat in the fifth inning for nine runs thanks to an RBI triple from Price, a double from Adcox that cleared the bases and a triple from Lauren Hilbourn.
