During the SGA meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 28, the student representatives gathered to discuss new legislation and mention student concerns. A student present at the meeting mentioned the risk of golf carts on the sidewalks, especially “since students normally use their headphones and may be distracted to watch for these carts,” the student said. Vice President Demildade responded by acknowledging the problem and letting him know it would be notified to the administration.

Senators were sent to a legislation workshop, where they came up with two new legislative ideas. The first one consisted of the idea of allowing more shuttle services for students who need to travel to bigger cities such as Fayetteville, Lumberton, Charlotte or Raleigh. The idea, considered important, will have a formal proposal in the future.
Furthermore, Senator Bryan mentioned that “there is a typo in the constitution, where it says ‘United States of American’ instead of ‘America’, it’s a small thing but we should take care of that.” Vice President Demildade agreed with the senator but mentioned there is no need for a formal proposal for that.
Senators were also told to nominate someone for the Student Spotlight, someone who represents school spirit and has outstanding behavior for the Braves Nation. The vice president ended the meeting by reminding everyone to encourage students to participate in these meetings and to represent the SGA.
