UNC at Pembroke’s main gym came alive as 740 students gathered for the annual BraveNation Bash, the university’s “ultimate welcome celebration.” From social and academic organizations to fraternities and sororities, the event highlights the many student organizations at UNCP.

On BraveConnect, the website, UNCP students are encouraged to go to find events around campus, read, “BraveNation Bash is the ultimate welcome celebration to kick off the semester.”

The Chavis Student Center hosted this event on August 19 at 6 p.m., welcoming both new and returning Braves with an event full of excitement, community, and connection. Students had the opportunity to experience music, games, food, drinks, and giveaways throughout the night.

The Bash is an annual tradition created to kick off the academic semester and to introduce students to new opportunities around campus. Attendees had the chance to explore tables hosted by student organizations and Greek life.

“We had 740 people at the Bash with 45 student orgs,” said Sam Hauser, Associate Director of Student Engagement.

This Ultimate Welcome Celebration continues to bring people together. For many first-year students, this event served as an opportunity for them to get to know more about the student organizations and Greek life offered on the UNCP’s campus, while returning students were able to reconnect with friends and organizations after the summer break. The high turnout showcases the excitement surrounding the start of this new academic year.

With music and laughter filling the gym and students leaving with their gifts, the BraveNation Bash comes to an end, setting the tone for the semester ahead.
