A night of Latin dance took place at the UNCP Annex lawn where the sisters of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc and Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc and the brothers of Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc welcomed all students to a night of cultural dance to embrace the Latin culture.
“I really like this event,” Lambda Theta Alpha, Inc Member CiCi Roman said. “I’m excited to bring tradition back with this event.”
This event is to give the UNCP students a chance to interact with different organizations from different backgrounds and to open themselves up to learn about different cultures through dance.
“It’s a wonderful event for the community to come together,” Johnathan Aquino said. “It helps the community feel like they belong at UNCP.”
This event is to highlight and show the UNCP students the inclusiveness of the UNCP campus. By having the Salsa Con Salsa event, it brings unity amongst the organizations and Greek life by embracing the Latin culture and participating in the entertaining and lively activity of Latin dance.
“I’m glad the Hispanic community was able to come together,” Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc Member Katie Aguilar-Manueles said. “I’m glad I came to the event.”
“I really like the event, and I like the diversity of the event,” Penelope Herrera-Garcia said. “I like all the cultures coming together.”
