Breaking News: Off-Campus Shooting at Commons Apartments

One student was killed and two were injured in a shooting early Saturday at the Commons at Pembroke Apartment Complex located at 408 W Railroad St, Pembroke. This is the second shooting to impact the UNC Pembroke campus community in 2024.

The incident occurred at 12:30 a.m. Saturday morning during a party at Commons room C201 according to social media posts made by students. 

UNCP Campus police are working with the State Bureau of Investigation and Pembroke Police in the ongoing investigation. There are no suspects or arrests made as of this publication.
