UNCP vs Converse
The UNC Pembroke volleyball team defeated the Converse Valkyries Friday night at Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court for Conference Carolina match.The Braves started off strong and finished strong en route to a 3-0 win (25-19, 28-26,25-21). This win puts the Braves on a three game winning streak.
Vanja Przulj finished the night with 20 kills, three aces and a block at the net, Katelyn West followed with 13 kills, Emma Fraidenburg had 11 kills on the night and Ruby Countryman had five kills and one block on the night. Other Brave contributors were Katie Pressley with 44 assist and 15 digs, Hope Turbyfill finished with 20 digs and four assist.
UNCP vs Belmont Abbey
The Braves capped off the weekend with another Conference Carolina match this time against the Belmont Abbey Crusaders and despite dropping a early first set the Braves managed to put together a comeback and take the match 3-1 (14-25,25-14,25-19,25-13). This win completed a weekend sweep for the Braves and earned them a fourth straight win improving to ten wins on the season.
Przulj had herself another great game finishing with another 20 kills while recording two blocks at the net, Abbey Peduzzi followed with 11 kills and registered a block.Countryman had seven kills and four blocks against the Crusaders and Fraidenburg had seven kills and two blocks. Pressley had 44 assist and one ace, Katelynn Swain had two aces and Anaya Carter one ace. Turbyfill had 20 digs and four assist and Kyleigh Coghlan had ten digs.
The Braves (10-7, 5-2 CC) will host Conference Carolina rival Mount Olive (11-5, 5-0 CC) on Wednesday. First serve will be at 7 p.m for Fiesta Night.
