St. Augustine’s vs. Pembroke Dec. 12

The women’s basketball team defended the Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court with a 63-40 win against St. Augustine’s. Courtney Smith scored the most points out of the Braves with 11 points. Lillian Flantos and Kelci Adams tied with seven for the team’s top rebounds. Naomi Gilbert was able to achieve eight points and four rebounds in only 13 minutes.

Converse vs. Pembroke Dec. 15

The Braves basketball team dominated Converse with a 76-40 win, a 36 point victory. Tiara Williams scored 13 total points with four rebounds and three assists. Lillian Flantos had the most rebounds for that night with nine defensive rebounds. All players who touched the court scored in the game.

Belmont Abbey vs. Pembroke Dec. 28

Traveling to Belmont Abbey, the Braves took home a 68-52 win. Gabby Smith scored 14 points completing all of her free throw attempts. Zaria Clark rebounded the ball a total of five times, three offensive and 2 defensive. The Braves were 87.5% at the free throw line with 14-16.

Chowan vs. Pembroke Jan. 4

The Braves Basketball team lost62-54 in a tough game against Chowan at the Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court. As they tried to comeback in the 4th quarter with 59-50 and 37 seconds on the clock, Chowan made two free throws which put the score back to a double digit lead. Zaria Clark with 14 points and seven rebounds was a key player for the Braves. The Braves transformed 19 Chowan turnovers into 18 points.

Francis Marion vs. Pembroke Jan. 6

During the Battle of I-95, UNCP came out on top with 66-49, a 17 point victory. Gabby Smith was the top scorer of the night with 16 points making 4 out of the 6 free throw attempts. Zaria Clark completed 10 rebounds for the Braves eight being defensive rebounds and two being offensive.

Barton vs. Pembroke Jan. 13

The Braves Basketball team lost a close game against Barton, 59-50. The team total for field goals was 17-57. Zaria Clark had the most rebounds of the night with 11 rebounds. Gabby Smith was close behind her with eight rebounds and led the Braves in points with 18 total for the night.

Mount Olive vs. Pembroke Jan. 17

Away at the Kornegay Arena, the Braves Basketball team lost 61-53. Zaria Clark excelled with 8 rebounds and scored 12 points for the Braves. Alcenia Purnell tied with Clark for the most points scored away at Mount Olive. The Braves had 22 turnovers during the game.

Converse vs. Pembroke Jan. 21

The Braves Basketball team traveled to Spartanburg, S.C. defeating Converse with a score of 57-42. Courtney Smith scored 18 points and achieved eight rebounds for the night. The Braves had 11 steals and eight turnovers for the night. Zaria Clark had nine rebounds for the night, the highest of the Braves.

North Greenville vs. Pembroke Jan. 22

Away at Hayes Gymnasium, the Braves brought back home a 64-39 win. Alcenia Purnell scored 12 points, Tiara Williams and Gabby Smith both scored 10 points for the team. Zaria Clark had eight rebounds in total for the night. The Braves had 12 steals and were 80% on the free throw line.
