Some school records in the Braves’ swimming program were broken Nov. 20 at the William Peace Invitational in Cary, and UNCP came away with a win against 11 other schools. The Braves took top two finishes in the 200-yard individual medley and the 500-yard freestyle. Senior Gillian Manning broke her own record in her100-yard breaststroke victory and won the 100-yard and the 500-yard free style events. Ketlyn Rodriguez Matos broke her own 21-monthold record and the school record in the 200-yard breaststroke by nearly two seconds at 2:24.90. During the 400-yard freestyle relay, Matos, Manning, Nathalia Silva and Mariel Mencia Martinez beat the school record at 3:31.46. After two weeks off from competition, the Braves will host Converse University at home on Dec. 4.
