The start of a new week calls for some upbeat music. The students of UNCP can get their jam on thanks to “Music Monday” outside of the English E. Jones Health and P.E. Center.

“This allows people to know what’s going on and when it’s happening,” said cross country and track student athlete Corey Pethers.

The goal is to try and get as much fan engagement as possible. It is known as the championship fan experience.

Music Monday gives students the opportunity to destress during class changes through music and interactions with others.

This event offers cornhole and other games, refreshments, along with giving students the chance to have something to look forward to on campus.

“The biggest thing we learned is that when nothing is going on, campus is dead and quiet, so we decided to blast some music to boost and bring the energy up at the start of the week,” said Jen Smith. Smith is the Director of Fan Engagement. The goal of Music Monday is to get students involved as well as knowing when the sports games are.

Music Monday will take place on campus every other Monday. The next dates for this event are to be held on Oct. 11th and 18th. The refreshments will become hot chocolate instead of popsicles as the weather changes into the colder months.

The students in attendance believe this event is one that brings joy to their Monday, but some requests for this musical day were made.

“It brings out the positive energy for the start of my week and gets me through the remainder of the week. My next request for Music Mondays would be Hot girl Meg Monday’s,” business management major, Zackary Mayo stated.

Megan Thee Stallion, was a request amongst many students who were out to listen to the music being played. Known for being a respected female rapper within the industry, her music is the kind that makes one want to dance freely allowing self-expression and confidence.

When it comes to knowing when and where different sports games are going to take place, the #BraveNation app gives students the access to win and purchase sports gear. The app is also how one can reserve their football tickets.

The #BraveNation app allows you to collect points the more you use the app. These points can authorize one to purchase team issued gear at the store, that is updated with some of the latest athleisure that our athletes wear. The app is free in the Apple App store along with Google play.

This event is one that will get you pumped for the upcoming week and might even allow one to create new friendships all while staying informed on the upcoming sporting events. This on campus event is one that will not only boost the start of your week but might also get you out to a game to support the Braves no matter what the sport is.
