UNCP is planning face-to-face graduation ceremonies for both undergrads and graduate students this semester.
The Graduate School ceremony is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on May 21 on the Quad, and the undergraduate ceremony is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on May 22 in the same location.
While both ceremonies will take place face-to-face, the university has several modifications that should help prevent the spread of COVID.
The space limitation for the undergraduate ceremony is a capacity of 2,000 people, so students will receive only two tickets, and chairs will be set up in groups of 2-6 feet apart.
Faculty may be able to attend the graduate ceremony because the number of participating students is smaller. Planners are considering an option for faculty to line the walking path as the undergraduates proceed to the Quad.
